Round 5

The Women’s team hosted Jandakot and rebounded strongly from the disappointment of the previous week.  The girls worked very hard all game and never really looked threatened, winning 8.5 53 to 4.4 28. Their tackling and attack on the ball was vey impressive. The win took them into fifth position on the ladder. Better players were Kayla Augustynek, Hannah St Jack, Lucy Cole, Jaella Blight And Jamie King. tackling strongly several times. Some new girls have joined over the last couple of weeks and the team now has some much needed depth, selection pressure will be on and it’s a great position for the team to be in.

The Reserves remained undefeated after another strong performance, winning 9.10 64 to 7.13 55. They again had a lot of changes but held on against a spirited High Wycombe side. They are sitting comfortably in second position on percentage. Better players were Eric Burgess, Michael Lowney, Chris Coyne and Michael Martin.

The League team were again disappointing,  again getting overrun in the last quarter after seemingly having the match in control. A couple of missed opportunities was followed by some lax defensive work, poor decisions and a lack of discipline. This allowed the visitors to kick the last six goals of the game and get up by 14 points, 12010 82 to 10.8 68. Best players were Bill Jones, Jarrad Blight, Adam Faulkner, Oliver McDonald, Sam Shambrook and Brett Speldewinde.

The Thirds hosted North Beach and lost 7.13 55 to 3.1 19. The boys tried hard again but lacked the polish of the visitors. Best players were Kyle Burgess, Michael Scibilia and Corry Rutherford.

This Saturday is the Mouse Racing and Silent Disco, make sure you come along, bring your partner and some mates and have a great night supporting the Club!
