Round 10

Some thrilling games at The Valley last Saturday with all four teams at home.

The Women took another top five scalp, winning an enthralling battle with Kwinana 3.6 24 to 3.2 20. The win has them sitting in third on percentage, equal top on points. They travel to Mundaring to take on Hills Rangers this Saturday to finish of the first round of fixtures. The Upper Swan Junior FC girls trained with the ladies a couple of weeks ago in a very successful night. As a result a couple of over age girls have joined the Club, the exercise will be repeated with Caversham JFC next week.

The Reserves got up in a tight contest 12.77 to 10.7 67. A very good result considering they only had 20 players for various reasons.  The win over the fifth placed Kwinana has them nicely placed in third, a game clear of fourth.

The League side were again very competitive against top five opposition, unfortunately they were not able to hold on against fourth placed Kwinana at home, going down 13.8 86 to 11.11 77. Another close defeat has them only two games out of the top five but only one game clear of the relegation zone. They face bottom team Canning South Perth away this week, a victory crucial to their chances of staying in C1 and in the finals hunt.

A badly undermanned Thirds team tried very hard but were totally outclassed in the twilight game against Kalamunda. Hopefully they can pull off a well earned win in the coming weeks. They travel to eighth placed Ellenbrook this week.

All players are expected to get back to our sponsor the Woodbridge Hotel on Saturday after their respective games to show our support. Good luck to all teams  and Go the mighty Valley!
